The company Tavares & Santos, Ltd. was established on 14th February of 1980 by Joaquim Tavares and António Correia. In this first stage the company had its headquarters and principal place at Arrancada do Vouga, Volongo do Vouga municipality of Águeda. Laboring in exiguous installations with a very small number of employees and turnover reached values that were around 5.000,00€.

On December 18th 1981 the statutes of the company and partner António Correia sold his share to Ana Ferreira. The share capital grew from € 1,000.00 to € 4,500.00.

On the 31st of December of 1992 the capital was changed again to € 175,000.00, to provide the company with a better financial structure. Fruit of sustained growth the company moved premises in July 1989, locating it in Alagoa, city of Águeda, district of Aveiro, and to this end, invested approximately € 100,000.00. The company currently has a covered area of 1370 m2.

On the 27th of December of 2000 the capital was changed from € 175,000.00 to € 250,000.00, to provide the company with a better financial structure. The company was certified according to NP EN ISO 9003 on February 24th, 1997. On November 20th, 2000 was already certified according to NP EN ISO 9002:1995. In 2003, the company was certified according to NP EN ISO 9001:2008.
